Sagging skin can affect many different areas of the body. Aging and weight loss cause skin and tissue to lose elasticity, which means once the skin is stretched, it will not return to its normal position on your body. Body lift procedures are a fantastic way to tighten and contour the body while removing excess fat and skin. Skin tightening can restore the shape of your body, including your neck, arms, stomach and thighs. Body lifts give you the figure you desire so that whether you are in your favorite comfy jeans or a little black dress, you feel beautiful and confident!
request an appointmentWhat Are Body Lift Procedures?
- Neck Lift – Neck lifts firm up the unsightly “turkey neck,” while reversing the signs of aging. A neck lift is a great option for someone who doesn’t necessarily need or want a facelift, but has problem areas around the jawline and the neck.
- Arm Lift – Extreme weight loss and aging can cause significant stretching to the skin and tissue on the underside of the arm. An arm lift will reshape the arm, giving it a more toned and proportioned look.
- Body Lift – Contouring your mid-section can be done with an abdominoplasty. Tummy tucks remove the excess skin due to pregnancy or weight loss and can repair muscle separation during the process.
- Thigh Lift – In addition to a tummy tuck, a lower body lift can also include a thigh lift. A thigh lift will remove excess skin from the groin area to the knee. The combination of a tummy tuck and an abdominoplasty will give your lower body a more slender and toned looked.
What Can I Expect From A Body Lift Procedure?
Like most surgical procedures, it is preferred that the patient be in good health, a non-smoker and close to their goal weight before surgery. The procedures are considered out-patient, so you will be able to go home the same day. You can choose to have one or all of the procedures listed above if approved by your surgeon. If you have excess fat deposits, liposuction may also be suggested, and liposuction can be used in combination with any of the body lift procedures. There will be recovery time involved with each procedure and your “downtime” will vary with each specific procedure. Dr. Huddleston will review the recovery time and what you can expect regarding recovery during your consultation. Eating healthy, getting plenty of rest and following your aftercare instructions will help your recovery go smoothly and quickly.
What About Results?
You will begin to see results of your body lift procedure soon after your surgery, but it may take several months before the swelling completely goes away and your final results are revealed. Your scars will also fade over time and will become less noticeable. Your results should be long-lasting with a healthy diet and exercise. Natural aging will still occur and you can regain weight, which can alter your appearance, but proper nutrition and good health practices will help to prevent these things from becoming a problem.
